The Kingly House 

Formerly a school dating back to the early part of the 20th Century, Kingly House is a traditionally built 2 storey detached property. It is being refurbished in order to meet the needs of the resident group whilst retaining a wealth of charm and character.

Kingly House provides comfortable surroundings. The standard of décor, furnishings, and colours used all play a part. So too does the standard of cleanliness.

 

       

       

 

Some specialist equipment may be needed because of the specific needs of the residents and new regulations regarding individuals’ accessibility. Domestic style remains the primary image of Kingly House.

Hinckley is a town that lies at the very heart of England. Kingly House stands in a prime location and is within yards of the pedestrian friendly town centre, yet the home is in a leafy residential area of Hinckley. The very location of the home will encourage Residents’ to continue to be citizens and full members of society.

       

 

All local amenities are within walking distance for ease of accessibility.

Hinckley town centre and adjacent facilities include; a bustling market place, many shops, churches, a leisure centre which caters for all abilities, a library, theatre, restaurants, cafés, bingo halls and public houses. There are numerous local colleges providing opportunities for educational fulfillment.

 

The home has good access to public transport which includes Hinckley being part of the midland rail network. The railway station lies within 5 minutes walk from Kingly House.

Within 15 minutes travel are the Cities of Leicester and Coventry – providing the benefits of city access and all concomitant choice of leisure, cultural, employment and educational opportunities, all supported where appropriate.

 

Kingly House owns its own vehicle which enables the residents to travel further a field.

The home has a private car park, which provides easy accessibility to the home for visitors. Kingly House can provide details of local hotels and guesthouses for family/visitors who wish to visit and remain in the area overnight.

All the accommodation, including room size, complies with or exceeds the minimum standards which came into force on the 1st April 2002.

       

Initially the home is able to offer 7 single bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and one bed-sit apartment. This will increase to 15 bedrooms and one bed-sit when the project is completed at the end of 2007/ start of 2008. Colour televisions are provided as standard in all bedrooms.

There is a lounge and a large separate dining room, which, in addition, has a comfortable seating area. The dining room has several sets of French doors which are opened out in the summer months, allowing Residents’ to take their meals on the veranda area, relaxing in the sunshine. Within the secure garden area, sits a summer house, which lends itself beautifully to those wishing to pursue arts and crafts.

 

Kingly House has two kitchens; a commercial kitchen and Residents’ kitchen. The Residents’ kitchen is designed to provide cooking facilities for those wishing to practice their cooking skills or simply those wishing to make themselves a snack. It is also a focal area where Residents’ can meet with family and friends, making teas and coffees before relaxing in the adjoining conservatory.

         

The home has a communal bathroom, which has been designed for ease of access for all needs and includes equipment to support those with mobility difficulties.
